 Section 7 Amendment rejection

We filed a Section 7 Amendment seeking to modify the identification of goods and/or services, and received a rejection stating that this amendment would change the nature of the goods and/or services and was not originally covered by the goods and/or services in the registration.

If we elect not to respond to the rejection and decide to enforce the registration in the future, are there any consequences in not filing a response? For example, would this be an admission that the identification of goods and services is incorrect? Could an unclean hands defense be used, arguing that there was an inaccuracy in the identification that we were aware of, and we took no action to fix after receving the rejection? (Given that the amendment shows that we are aware of an inaccuracy, which is part of the file history and public record.)
