 Trademark registration for "living" logos?

I can't seem to find anything about this after spending a little time searching so I figured I throw it out there.

Say a company has a logo, which consists of group of letters representing an acronym for the company name. On any web-based, mobile application, or digital document a GIF image of the logo, either randomly or in accordance with a defined sequence, rearranges itself at preset intervals of time. On any fixed medium, business cards, letterhead, etc., it is preferred that the logo would be shown in various arrangements on the different items.

Is anyone aware of a way to attempt to protect a moving logo?

See these well-known examples:

TM No.1,928,424 for 20th Century Fox's animated logo:

Quote:
The trademark is a computer generated sequence showing the central element from several angles as though a camera is moving around the structure. The drawing represents four "stills" from the sequence.

TM No. 1,975,999 for Columbia Pictures' animated logo:

Quote:
The mark consists of a moving image of a flash of light from which rays of light are emitted against a background of sky and clouds. The scene then pans downward to a torch being held by a lady on a pedestal. The word "COLUMBIA" appears across the top running through the torch and then a circular rainbow appears in the sky encircling the lady.

TM No. 2,077,148 for Netscape's animated browser logo:

Quote:
The mark consists of an animated sequence of images depicting the silhouette of a portion of a planet with an upper case letter "N" straddling the planet and a series of meteorites passing through the scene, all encompassed within a square frame. The animated sequence is displayed during operation of the software.

This one is registered with a sample sequence of numbered images.

(I got these from WIPO Magazine July/August 2004, pages 17-18, which I found by Googling "motion trademark".)
